Verlinvest has purchased a majority stake in the Climbing Hangar, alongside its CEO and founder Ged MacDomhnaill and existing management.
The Climbing Hangar offers climbing experiences through bouldering gyms across the UK. The London-based company runs across nine sites with over 20,000 members, a statement read.
The investment will provide capital to allow the Climbing Hangar to accelerate its growth by building new sites in the UK, acquiring existing operations and deepening its brand and climbing community, the statement added.
“We are delighted to partner with Ged and the team and will actively seek M&A opportunities with other likeminded partners to build the business on an international scale,” said Ben Black of Verlinvest, in a statement.
Verlinvest is a global, family-backed evergreen investment company investing up to €200 million per investment. Established in 1995, with offices in Brussels, London, New York, Mumbai and Singapore, Verlinvest focuses on the FMCG, health, consumer technology and lifestyle categories.
