7shifts, a Saskatoon-based provider of restaurant employee scheduling solutions, has secured $7.9 million (US$6 million) in financing. Napier Park Financial Partners, which led the company's $13.4 million Series A round earlier this year, also led the supplementary round. It was joined by existing investor Relay Ventures and new investor Conexus Credit Union. 7shifts will use the new funds raised to expand its North American restaurant footprint.
Khatabook said Oct. 1 that it raised a $25 million Series A round from GGV Capital, partners of DST Global, RTP Ventures, Sequoia India, Tencent, Y Combinator and others. More than 20 prominent angels* including Amrish Rau, Anand Chandrasekharan, Deep Nishar, Gokul Rajaram, Jitendra Gupta, Kunal Bahl, Kunal Shah and others also took part. Khatabook is a mobile application that enables SMEs to record & track business transactions.
Novo Seeds co-led a 20 million euros Series A funding round in Stipe Therapeutics alongside Arix Bioscience. Other investors in the funding round include Wellington Partners Life Science Venture Capital Management and Sunstone LSV General Partner IV.
Cresco Capital Partners led a $7.5 million Series B funding round in PathogenDx, which provides testing technology for the cannabis, hemp, agriculture and food safety industries. Additional investors in the funding round include Altitude Investment Management, Arcadian Investment Partners, Panther Opportunity Fund, Salveo Capital, Flatiron Venture Partners and others.
Kenna Security said Sept. 30 that it raised $48 million in a Series D round of funding. New investors include Sorenson Capital and Citi Ventures. Kenna’s existing investors, including Bessemer Venture Partners, U.S. Venture Partners, Costanoa Ventures, Hyde Park Angels, and OurCrowd, joined the funding round. Kenna provides risk-based vulnerability management services.
Bregal Milestone and First Fellow Partners have invested 41.5 million euros ($45.3 million) in ePassi. Pekka Rantala, the newly appointed ePassi CEO, is co-investing in the transaction. EPassi, of Helsinki, provides mobile payments for subsidized employee benefits.
Modulz, a visual code editor for teams, has secured $4.2 million in seed funding, according to a blog post on its site. The investors included LocalGlobe and Frontline.
New York City-based Teampay, a provider of distributed spend management software, has secured $12 million in Series A financing. Tribe Capital led the round with participation from return backers Crosscut, Silicon Valley Bank and Precursor Ventures.
South San Francisco-based Meissa Vaccines, a developer of vaccines to prevent viral respiratory infections, has raised $30 million in Series A financing. The investor was Morningside Ventures. In addition to the funding, Dr. Isaac Cheng and Stephanie O’Brien of Morningside will join Meissa Vaccines' board of directors.
UK-based Moneyfarm, a digital wealth management firm, has secured 36 million pounds ($44.4 million) in Series C funding, reported Reuters. The investors were Poste Italiane and Allianz Asset Management.
