Austin, Texas-based Place Technology, a maker of corporate performance management solutions, has raised $3 million in funding. Geekdom Fund led the round.
Tenfold, a next generation CTI company that integrates CRM and voice platforms, has secured $7.5 million in Series C funding. Next Coast Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Andreessen Horowitz, Geekdom Fund and Salesforce Ventures.
San Francisco-based Contentstack, provider of headless CMS technology for use by marketers, announced it has raised $31.5 million in Series A funding. Insight Partners led the round, which included participation from existing backers Illuminate Ventures and GingerBread Capital. As part of the round, Teddie Wardi, managing director at Insight, will join the board. The company was launched last year.
Denver-based Viola, a provider of cannabis products, has secured $16 million in funding. Gotham Green Partners led the round.
BMO has invested $5 million in a University of Toronto lab that combines artificial intelligence and the humanities. Called the BMO Lab for Creative Research in the Arts, Performance, Emerging Technologies and AI, the lab will be housed within the University of Toronto’s Centre for Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies. BMO is a financial services provider.
San Mateo, California-based Celigo, the next-generation integration platform as a service provider for both IT and business users, has raised $20 million in Series B funding. NewSpring led the round with participation from Blossom Street Ventures and TVC Capital.
Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technologies Inc, a Vancouver-based provider of nutrient management solutions, has raised up to US$16.5 million in funding. Wheatsheaf Group Limited and VantagePoint Capital Partners were the lead investors.
SweeGen Inc, a stevia-based sweetener company, has secured an undisclosed amount of funding. The lead investors were Outlook Investment Group and Sumitomo Chemical.
Palo Alto, California-based Next Insurance, a digital insurtech company, has raised $250 million in Series C funding. Next Insurance's backers include MunichRe, Redpoint Ventures, Nationwide, Markel, American Express Ventures, Ribbit Capital, TLV Partners, Group 11 and Zeev Ventures.
DeepRoute, a self-driving vehicle startup, has raised $50 million in funding. Fosun RZ Capital, the Beijing-based venture capital arm of Chinese conglomerate Fosun International, led the round.
