Raleigh, North Carolina-based Element451, a creator of a cloud-based customer relationship management platform, has secured $1 million in seed funding. The investor was Cofounders Capital.
Soliton Inc, a medical device company, has agreed to raise $6.25 million in a private placement. Remeditex Ventures LLC led the financing.
RigUp said Oct. 10 that it raised a $300 million Series D round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) with participation from existing investors, including Founders Fund, Bedrock Capital, and Quantum Energy Partners. New investors include Baillie Gifford and Brookfield Growth Partners. RigUp, of Austin, provides a marketplace for on-demand services and skilled labor.
Emplify said Oct. 10 that it raised a $15 million funding round led by Edison Partners. Prior investors, including Allos Ventures, Cultivation Capital, Mark Hill, Bob Davoli from Gutbrain Ventures and 4G Ventures managing director Bill Godfrey, participated in the round. Emplify, an employee engagement company, said it hired George Tate as SVP of Sales.
Satelles Inc raised $26 million in a funding round led by C5 Capital. Satelles, of Redwood City, California, provides time and location technology that is delivered over the Iridium constellation of low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites.
Yapla, a Montréal-based payment and management software platform for non-profit organizations (NPOs), has raised an undisclosed investment from La Fabrique by CA, the startup studio of French bank Credit Agricole. Founded in 2013, Yapla provides NPOs with solutions to facilitate day-to-day operations, such as organizing events, selling tickets online, managing members and receiving donations online. […]
Papa said Oct. 9 that it raised $10 million in a Series A round led by Canaan, with additional investment from Pivotal Ventures, an investment and incubation company created by Melinda Gates. Initialized Capital, Y Combinator, and Sound Ventures re-invested in the round. Papa seeks to provide companionship to seniors to curb loneliness and social isolation.
Razberi Technologies, a provider of simple, secure video surveillance and IoT solutions, has raised $5.8 million in funding. LiveOak Venture Partners led the round.
Seattle-based Shujinko, a provider of cloud compliance software, announced it has raised a $7.5 million in Series A funding. Unusual Ventures led the round with participation from returning investor Defy as well as angel investors. Shujinko, originally incubated and spun out from Pioneer Square Labs, has raised $10.3 million in funding to date.
Umbo Computer Vision, an artificial intelligence company, has raised $8 million in funding, bringing the total tally to $17.6 million. Translink Capital and Susquehanna International Group led this round.
