San Francisco-based Lively Inc, a health savings account provider, has secured $27 million in Series B funding. Costanoa Ventures led the round with participation from Ally Ventures, Liquid 2 Ventures, PJC, Teamworthy Ventures, Streamlined Ventures and Y Combinator.
Enerkem, a Montréal-based producer of biofuels and renewable chemicals from waste, has raised $50 million in funding. The investor was Calgary-based energy company Suncor. This past April, Suncor participated in a $76.3 million financing round. As a result of this new investment, Suncor has become a "significant" Enerkem shareholder. Enerkem's other backers include Braemar Energy Ventures, Cycle Capital, Fondaction, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Investissement Québec, National Bank of Canada, Rho Ventures, Sunkem, Waste Management of Canada and Westly Group.
Rentgrata, a renter insights platform that creates connections and builds community for multifamily properties, has raised $1 million in funding. The lead investor was M25.
Houston and San Francisco-based Alice, an AI-driven platform that helps businesses launch and grow, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding. The lead investor was SVB Financial Group, parent company to Silicon Valley Bank.
Adroit Worldwide Media Inc, a vision technology company powered by artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning, has raised $11 million in financing. Impact Venture Capital led the round.
TDK Ventures Inc, a subsidiary of TDK Corporation, has made an investment in Wheels, a micromobility company. No financial terms were disclosed. The funding was part of a round led by DBL Partners.
Crosslend, a European digital debt marketplace, has secured 35 million euros in Series B funding. Santander InnoVentures led the round with participation from return backers Earlybird, ABN Amro Ventures and Lakestar.
DMed Biopharmaceutical Co said it raised roughly $50 million in a Series B funding round led by Vivo Capital. Participating in the round were Legend Capital, Qiming Venture Partners and Lilly Asia Ventures. DMed is a clinical contract research organization that provides industry solutions to pharmaceutical and medical device companies in China and across the globe.
Boston-based startup Mable, a mobile and web-based B2B wholesale platform, has raised $3.1 million in seed funding. Venrock, Accomplice and Founder Collective led the round.
Lovevery, an early learning company, has secured $20 million in Series B funding. The investors included Maveron, GV, Reach Capital, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and Collaborative Fund.
