Iowa City-based Winnow, a provider of AI tools for chefs, has secured $12 million in Series B funding. The investors included Ingka Group,Mustard Seed, Circularity Capital, D-Ax and The Ingenious Group.
NERv Technology, a medtech venture co-founded by a number of University of Waterloo alumni, has secured $1 million in pre-seed funding. The investors included Sunhope Capital VC. The capital infusion will be used to cover the costs associated with preclinical studies and further develop NERv's flagship post-operative sensory platform product.
Sistine Solar, a provider of solar panels, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding. The investors were Energy Foundry, MassCEC and Thin Line Capital.

South San Francisco-based ArsenalBio, a developer of a cell therapy company, has secured $85 million in Series A financing. The investors included Westlake Village BioPartners, the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, Kleiner Perkins, the University of California, San Francisco Foundation Investment Company, Euclidean Capital and Osage Venture Partners.
Salt Lake City-based Galileo, an API standard for card issuing programs, has raised $77 million in funding. Accel led the round with participation from Qualtrics co-founder and CEO Ryan Smith.
Ekos said Oct. 17 that it raised $8 million in a Series A round led by Noro-Moseley Partners. Ekos, of Charlotte, North Carolina, provides business management software for craft beverage companies.
Pendo.io said Oct. 17 that it raised $100 million in Series E funding led by Sapphire Ventures. New investors General Atlantic and Tiger Global, along with existing investors Battery Ventures, Meritech Capital, FirstMark, Geodesic Capital, and Cross Creek participated in the round. Pendo is a product cloud that aims to help digital product teams and application owners deliver software experiences that users love.
Flare Systems, a Montréal-based dark-net intelligence platform focused on helping financial institutions prevent cyber-crimes, has raised $1 million in a seed-stage financing. The round was led by Luge Capital, a Canadian fintech venture capital firm. Also participating was White Star Capital. Founded in 2017, Flare Systems will use the round's proceeds to expand its roll-out in Canada and the United States, and further develop its suite of products. Luge last year raised an initial $75 million for its inaugural fund.
