Crunchbase, a provider of private-company prospecting and research solutions, has secured US$30 million in Series C funding. OMERS Ventures led the round with participation from Emergence, Mayfield, Cowboy Ventures and Verizon. In addition to the funding, Michael Yang, managing partner at OMERS Ventures, will join Crunchbase's board of directors. This round brings Crunchbase's total funding to US$56.5 million. OMERS Ventures is the venture capital investment arm of OMERS, a Canadian pension fund.
Boston-based TetraScience, a developer of cloud-based data integration platform for life sciences R&D, has raised $8 million in Series A funding. TetraScience's backers include Waters Corporation, Floodgate Capital, First Round Capital, Underscore VC, Founder Collective and Y Combinator.
Namogoo, a cybersecurity firm, has raised $40 million in Series C funding. Oak HC/FT led the round. In addition to the funding, Matt Streisfeld, a partner at Oak HC/FT, will join Namogoo's board of directors.
Philadelphia-based Tmunity Therapeutics, a biotherapeutics firm, has secured $75 million in Series B financing. Andreessen Horowitz led the round.
Particle, a internet of things platform, has raised $40 million in Series C funding. Qualcomm Ventures LLC and Energy Impact Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Root Ventures, Bonfire Ventures, Industry Ventures, Spark Capital, Green D Ventures, Counterpart Ventures and SOSV.
Buffalo, New York-based Kangarootime, a provider of early childhood software, has secured $3.5 million in Series A funding. The firm's investors include Cultivation Capital.
Curated, an online shopping platform, has secured $27.5 million across two previously undisclosed rounds of funding. Forerunner Ventures led the Series A round. In conjunction with the funding, Kirsten Green, founder and managing director of Forerunner Ventures, has joined Curated's board of directors.
San Mateo, California-based Folloze, a provider of applied hyper-personalization solutions, has secured $11 million in Series B funding. BGV led the round with participation from Canvas Ventures, Cervin Ventures, Grayhawk Capital and SVB.
San Francisco-based Cytovale Inc, a medical technology company, has raised $15 million in financing. Breakout Ventures and Blackhorn Ventures led the round.
CI Financial Corp is making an investment in Toronto-based fintech firm d1g1t Inc. No financial terms were disclosed. The capital will be used for product innovation and commercial expansion. Last year, d1g1t secured Series A funding from Purpose Financial, which is backed by OMERS Platform Investments.
