Fundraising

Chip Baird and David Ferguson will continue to lead GreyLion as the firm's managing partners. 

The fundraising total includes $5 billion for co-investments and attracted 275 investors from nearly 40 countries. 

The $4 billion total includes $2.8 billion in its KKR Dislocation Opportunities Fund and more than $1.1 billion through separately managed accounts committed for the same type of investments.

The group, which sits within the investment management division of Cowen Inc, is led by Kevin Raidy, Tim Anderson and Robert Sine. 

The firm also raised an additional $1.5 billion through separately managed accounts that will invest alongside Global Project Fund V. 

To date, Fund II completed four investments, including its first by the firm's North America team. 

Rubicon Technology Partners III was targeting $850 million for investments in enterprise software companies.

The firm closed the prior fund, which closed on just over 1 billion euros, in 2016.

As part of the mandate, the system will consider managers focused on environmental, social and governance issues with each commitment.

Manna Tree made four investments to date: pasture-raised egg brand Vital Farms, MycoTechnology, which makes products using mushroom proteins, Nutriati, which makes proprietary plant-based ingredients, and pasture-raised, organic beef brand Verde Farms.
