Waterloo, Ontario-based Sera4, an enterprise smart lock maker, has secured $1.5 million in financing. The investor was BDC Capital's growth and transition capital division. The capital infusion will be used for inventory, product development and sales and marketing. Sera4 was founded in 2014 by Jerod Klin, an ex-software engineer at BlackBerry.
Mega Broadband Investments LLC, which is backed by GTCR, has acquired Shawnee, Oklahoma-based Vyve Broadband, a provider of high-speed data, television and voice services to residential and business customers in rural markets across Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia and Wyoming. No financial terms were disclosed. Lazard Middle Market LLC acted as financial adviser to GTCR and MBI.
Source Code, which is backed by JMC Capital Partners, has acquired London-based Broadberry Data Systems, an IT hardware supplier/integrator. No financial terms were disclosed.
Destiny Solutions, which is backed by The Riverside Company, has merged with Camarillo, California-based OmniUpdate, a web content management system provider for higher education. No financial terms were disclosed. Toronto-based Destiny Solutions is a student lifecycle management solution provider for continuing education and other non-traditional higher education students.
LexisNexis has formed a joint venture with Axiom, a portfolio company of Carrick Capital via an investment in Axiom spin-off Knowable, a provider of enterprise contracts intelligence. Also, Permira has made a "significant" investment in Axiom and is now the majority owner of the legal services provider. And, JPMorgan Chase has closed its acquisition of Carrick portfolio company InstaMed, a U.S. healthcare technology company that specializes in healthcare payments. No financial terms were disclosed.
Thinkproject, which is backed by TA Associates, has acquired Conclude GmbH, a German software service provider for construction projects. No financial terms were disclosed.
Graham Partners has acquired Gatekeeper Systems Inc from HKW. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Foothills Ranch, California, Gatekeeper is a provider of intelligent cart solutions.
Tech Data has agreed to acquire DLT Solutions, a government solutions aggregator. No financial terms were disclosed. DLT is backed by Mill Point Capital.
Lincoln Road and Peninsula Capital Partners have made an investment in Jacksonville, Florida-based Aegis Fire & Integrated Services, a provider of fire extinguishers, suppression, sprinkler and alarm systems. No financial terms were disclosed.
Clayton, Dubilier & Rice has agreed to acquire Anixter International Inc in a take-private deal for $3.8 billion. According to terms of the deal, CD&R will acquire Anixter common stock for $81 per share in cash. The deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of next year. Based in Glenview, Illinois, Anixter is a provider of network and security solutions, electrical and electronic solutions and utility power solutions.
