John Browne has joined Apax Partners as non-executive chairman of its advisory board. Browne announced last week that he would step down as CEO of BP PLC in July. www.apax.com

RingCentral Inc., a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of enterprise telecom services, has secured $6.25 million of a $12.89 million Series A round, according to a regulatory filing.
