Next Coast Ventures has named Jonathan Kaplan as chief operating officer. Previously, Kaplan served as chief legal officer and general counsel of RetailMeNot.
Origin Ventures has promoted Scott Stern and Prashant Shukla to vice president, according to a company announcement. Also, the firm has upped Devon Leichtman to director of platform. Stern first joined Origin Ventures in 2016 while Shukla came on board in 2017. Leichtman also joined the firm in 2017.
MATH Venture Partners has named Josh Leavitt as chief financial officer. Previously, Leavitt was a market president for Green Thumb Industries and the co-founder and CEO of Zoku Technologies.
Grasshopper Bank has appointed Barbara Fleming as head of venture capital and private equity relationships. Previously, she worked at Bridge Bank.
Boston-based 6 River Systems Inc, a provider of collaborative mobile robotics fulfillment solutions, has named Juergen Heim as sales director in Europe. Heim is the former director of global sales and services for NOVEXX Solutions. 6RS's backers include Menlo Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Eclipse and iRobot.
Skyway Capital Markets has appointed Daniel Blood as senior managing director. Previously, Blood worked at FBR.
JMI Equity has promoted Maggie Schmitt to principal, finance and Tyler Duke to vice president. Also, the growth equity firm hired Meredith Keller as director, portfolio talent. Prior to joining JMI, Schmitt was an auditor for Deloitte & Touche in its audit and enterprise risk services practice while Duke was an investment banking analyst in the technology, media and telecommunications group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. And, previously, Keller worked at Bespoke Partners where she was director of research.

Baird Advisors has appointed Lyle Fitterer to co-lead the municipal investment team. Previously, he worked at Wells Fargo Asset Management where he led the municipal fixed income team and co-led the global fixed income team. Fitterer begins his new role on August 6.
