Warburg Pincus has appointed Frank Tait as an industry adviser in the technology, media and telecommunications group. Previously, he was senior vice president of corporate development at Frontline Education.
Pacific Avenue Capital Partners has named Jason Leach as a managing director and member of its investment committee. Previously, Leach was a principal with Platinum Equity and Sun Capital Partners.
Megatel Capital Investments, the capital markets unit of The Megatel Group, has hired Andrew Nerney as regional vice president. Also, the company has added Joel Rickner and Stan Smrke as associate vice presidents to its internal sales desk.
Ares Management hired ex-Fortress executive Joel Holsinger as co-head of alternative credit, effectively immediately. Holsinger will work alongside Keith Ashton co-leading alternative credit to expand Ares's global coverage of the sector, which targets asset-focused direct investments primarily in North America and Europe. Holsinger previously was a partner with Fortress Investment Group, where he was a member of the management committee and the investment committee for the credit funds. Before, he was a founding partner at Atalaya Capital Management.
Greylock Partners has named Saam Motamedi a general partner.
Stony Lonesome Group has hired Gary Miliefsky as a venture partner and adviser for Stony Lonesome Capital III. Miliefsky is the founding member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Information Security Group. Currently, he is the CEO of the Cyber Defense Media Group and the publisher of Cyber Defense Magazine.
Sapphire Ventures has hired Cathy Gao and Nate Leung as vice presidents. Previously, Gao worked at AXA Venture Partners while Leung was at Industry Ventures.
Sorenson Ventures has hired Chris Downer as a principal. Previously, he was a principal at XL Innovate.
Evercore has named Ari Berger as a senior managing director in the firm's investment banking business. His appointment begins in October. Previously, Berger worked at Barclays where he was a managing director in its consumer retail group.
