The Halifax Group has completed an undisclosed investment in Interim HealthCare Inc., a home healthcare franchisor. Terms of the deal were not released. Interim is based in Sunrise, Fla.
JDA Software Group Inc., a maker of supply-chain management software, agreed to be bought by privately held rival RedPrairie for about $1.9 billion in cash. The $45 per-share offer represents an 18 percent premium over JDA's Wednesday close. JDA shares, which closed at $38.15 on the Nasdaq, rose to $44.76 on Thursday morning. Reuters reported on Monday, citing sources, that JDA was exploring a sale and had hired JPMorgan Chase & Co. as adviser.
Intertainment Media Inc. of Toronto, Ontario, announced that company managers have been working with legal counsel and unspecified US private equity funds to pursue capital strategies in the United States and to undertake divisional spin-outs. As part of its investment strategy, the firm is also planning a senior US listing.
The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec has made a second investment totaling $5.4 million in Groupe Moreau of Rouyn-Noranda, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec. In July 2012, the Caisse collaborated with Wynnchurch Capital in a significant equity investment intended to facilitate the company's growth in its provision of services to natural resource and industrial sectors.
Buyout firm GTCR has acquired Premium Credit Limited for an undisclosed amount. The seller was MBNA Europe, a subsidiary of Bank of America Corp. Terms were not released.
A subsidiary of China Investment Corporation, the country's sovereign wealth fund, is buying a 10 percent stake in the UK's Heathrow Airport, state news agency Xinhua reported on Thursday. The Xinhua report follows a statement from Spanish infrastructure company, Ferrovial, on Wednesday that it had sold a 5.72 percent stake in Heathrow holding company FGP Topco to China's Stable Investment Corporation for 319.3 million euros ($414 million).
Asia buyout firm Olympus Capital is leading an investor group that has injected $50 million to expand China's Huaxia Dairy Farm Ltd., a company that produces the raw milk that is in short supply in China's growing dairy sector, Reuters reported Thursday. This is the second Olympus-led injection into Huaxia. Last year the firm led a group including European dairy firm Mueller Milch Management that invested $45 million for a minority stake.
Three private equity firms are left in the running for Dutch trust and corporate management business Intertrust Group after Carlyle and Goldman Sachs Private Equity dropped out, Reuters reported on Wednesday. Blackstone, Cinven and Pamplona are preparing to submit second round bids on Nov. 7 for Intertrust, banking sources said. The firm is being sold in an auction process by private equity company Waterland.
African phone tower group IHS plans to sell 25 percent stake in its telecom infrastructure business to European investment firm Wendel for $125 million to fund expansion, writes Reuters. IHS said the equity raised from Wendel will help balance its capital structure, fund the purchase of additional towers and make infrastructure improvements throughout Africa and the Middle East.
7 Days Group Holdings Limited, an economy hotel chain based in China has retained J.P. Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited as its financial advisor and Baker & McKenzie as its United States legal counsel in its proposed take private transaction. Sequoia Capital China and affiliates of the Carlyle Group are proposing to back the transaction.
