The National Multi-Commodity Exchange of India is in talks with private equity firms to raises 300-350 million rupees to comply with minimum capital rules, Reuters reported Tuesday. The exchange is India’s fourth largest, and currently has equity capital and reserves of 650-700 million rupees. Names of potential private equity backers were not released.
Greenbriar Equity Group has acquired PetroChoice, a distributor of petroleum vehicle lubricant products, from KRG Capital Partners. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. PetroChoice is based in Riddlesburg, Penn.
Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and Sumitomo Corp. are buying the aircraft-leasing business of Royal Bank of Scotland in a deal worth $7.3 billion, Reuters reported Tuesday. SMFG will take around 70% of RBS Aviation Capital, while trading company Sumitomo will hold the rest, Reuters reported.
Fipar Holding, a Moroccan private equity firm, is planning to raise 2 billion dirhams ($230 million) in an initial public offering on the Casablanca bourse, Reuters reported Tuesday. Fipar's assets include a 17% stake in Morocco's second biggest telecoms operator Medi Telecom, and a 30% stake in the firm managing the country's biggest port in Tangier, Reuters wrote.

A number of firms will reportedly bid next week for one of the UK's largest law schools, The College of Law, Reuters reported Friday. Buyers linked to the deal include education company Pearson, KKR-owned Laureate International Universities and buyout house Providence Equity Partners, as well as Palamon Capital Partners and a joint bid from Exponent Private Equity and Sovereign Capital, Reuters wrote.

TowerBrook Capital Partners is emerging the frontrunner in the auction for ventilation and heating systems manufacturer Volution. The company is currently owned by AAC Capital Partners, Reuters reported Friday. AAC, the UK team of the former buyout arm of ABN Amro, acquired Volution in 2006 from Montagu Private Equity, Reuters wrote.
AVG Technologies NV, a Netherlands-based maker of Internet security software, has filed with U.S. regulators to raise up to $125 million in an initial public offering. The company has raised money from Intel Capital, Grisoft Holdings and private equity firm TA Associates.
