Madison Capital loses another senior executive

Faraaz Kamran has left Madison Capital Funding LLC after more than eight years.

The managing director and head of Madison Capital’s healthcare leverage finance team “is no longer with Madison Capital Funding,” according to an automated email reply. Messages were referred to Adam Willis, a Madison Capital director.

Kamran left Madison Capital on Monday, November 10, sources said. One source attributed his departure to “managerial differences.”

Kamran joined Madison Capital in May 2007, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before that, Kamran spent four years in Merrill Lynch Capital Healthcare Finance’s leveraged lending group. He also worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago, LinkedIn said.

Chicago-based Madison Capital provides financing for private equity sponsors. Industries include healthcare, insurance and consumer products. The lender had $7.5 billion in assets under management as of June, the firm’s website said. Madison Capital is a unit of New York Life.

Kamran’s departure is the latest in a string of senior-level exits for the lender. In July, Devon Russell, a senior managing director and one of three members of the firm’s executive committee, left after a dozen years. Joshua Niedner, who was head of Madison Capital’s investment management group, departed in June to join Vista Equity Partners.

Madison Capital in July hired Jon Leisinger as a director and head of mezzanine credit. Leisinger previously worked at Bain Capital credit affiliate Sankaty Advisors, where he served as an executive vice president responsible for mezzanine deal origination, credit evaluation, execution and portfolio management.

Officials for Madison Capital did not return calls or messages for comment.
