Chart of the week: Lenders predict debt will become more expensive this year

With the likelihood of a recession, or at least an economic slowdown, growing, more lenders are predicting that debt across the capital structure will grow more expensive this year. A recent survey finds 68 percent of lenders predicting that spreads on senior debt will rise over the next year, while clear majorities predict the same for unitranche and subordinated debt.
