Armance Borders was appointed as general counsel at Sofinnova Partners. She brings 10 years of experience in private equity. Prior to joining Sofinnova, Armance was deputy general counsel and secretary of the board of directors at Eurazeo.
Sequoia China and Serica Partners co-led an $11 million Series A funding for NuProbe, an early stage molecular diagnostics company. Other investors included WuXi AppTec Corporate Ventures. The funds will be used to grow staff in Massachusetts and China and for technology development, clinical trials and commercialization.
Bill Thompson joined Evercore as a senior managing director and co-CEO of its private capital advisory group. Thompson will help expand the bank's real estate advisory business. Over the course of his career, Thompson worked in leadership roles at LaSalle Advisors, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette/Credit Suisse and Greenhill.
Peninsula Pacific-backed Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping, a provider of concrete pumping services, acquired O’Brien Concrete Pumping, a provider of concrete pumps with its headquarters near Denver. Financial terms were not announced.
Fastener Distribution Holdings, a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, acquired Blue Sky Industries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Blue Sky, of Monterey Park, California, distributes c-class parts to aerospace and defense MRO and OEM customers.
Jonathan Laifer joined BelHealth Investment Partners as an associate. Laifer was previously an investment banking associate in the healthcare group at Goldman Sachs focusing on M&A, leveraged finance and equity transactions.
TPG ART led a $15.9 million Series B funding for Inocucor Corp, a developer and producer of biological crop inputs. Other investors included Cycle Capital Management, Desjardins Innovatech and Pontifax AgTech. Ben Belldegrun, managing partner and co-founder of Pontifax AgTech, joined Inocucor's board of directors.
Atria Wealth Solutions, a portfolio company of Lee Equity Partners, has agreed to buy Cadaret, Grant & Co. Arita bought all of Cadaret, Grant plus all of its sister companies, Cadaret Grant Agency and Capital Strategy Group. Financial terms weren't announced. Cadaret, Grant, of Syracuse, New York, is a broker-dealer.
Advent International has agreed to buy Zentiva, Sanofi’s European generics business, for 1.9 billion euros ($2.37 billion). Zentifa is the European generics business of Sanofi. Advent will invest in the company's operations, production facilities and R&D pipeline.
Andera Partners led a $24.5 million Series A financing for Medical Microinstruments (MMI), an Italian company which helps surgeons offer more advanced microsurgical procedures. Other investors included Panakes Partners, Fountain Healthcare, Sambatech, Gus Castello and John Engels.
