Resource Energy Partners LLC, an Apollo Global Management portfolio company, completed its first acquisition with the purchase of 112 oil wells in the Williston Basin. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Denver-based firm plans to pursue acquisitions from $25 million to $500 million over the next several years.
The Gores Group promoted Jennifer Kwon Chou to managing director. Chou joined Gores in 2010 as vice president and most recently was head of investor relations for the firm.
Symphony Technology Group sold its portfolio company AlphaImpactRx to IMS Health. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Symphony created AlphaImpactRx, a provider of research-based insights to biopharmaceutical and consumer health companies, in 2011 through the combination of three biopharmaceutical companies.
Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP hired three private equity attorneys from Locke Lord LLC’s private equity and venture capital group. Stephen O. Meredith, Sarah N.A. Camougis and Christopher W. Nelson joined Choate’s private equity group as partners.
CIVIQ Smartscapes, a JMC Capital Partners portfolio company, acquired elevate DIGITAL, a Chicago-based developer of street-level software. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Apax Partners will sell its 55 percent stake in Tommy Hilfiger’s China operations, to its joint-venture partner PVH Corp, the owner of the Tommy Hilfiger brand. The purchase price for the transaction is approximately $172 million.
NBTY Inc has agreed to sell its retail business, Vitamin World, to Centre Lane Partners. Financial terms were not disclosed. NBTY, of Ronkonkoma, New York, is a portfolio company of the Carlyle Group. Latham & Watkins LLP acted as legal advisor and Lazard Middle Market LLC was the financial advisor to NBTY. Centre Lane Partners received financial advice from Alvarez & Marsal.
Insurance company Chubb launched a new private equity practice to provide insurance solutions to U.S. and Canadian private equity firms and their portfolio companies. As previously announced, Seth Gillston will lead the group. He was an executive vice president at ACE Risk Management until last month when ACE Ltd completed its merger with Chubb Corp.
Partners Group will acquire a majority stake in Guardian Early Learning Group from Navis Capital Partners. Financial terms were not disclosed. Guardian operates a network of early learning centers across Australia. As part of the deal, Cyrus Driver, Partners Group managing director and head of Asian private equity, will join Guardian’s board.
Blue Point Capital Partners, in conjunction with its portfolio company, Alco Manufacturing Corporation LLC acquired Grand Haven, Michigan-based Lakeshore Fittings Inc, a maker of brass and aluminum fittings. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
