Affiliates of Warburg Pincus agreed to sell 3.5 million shares of China Biologic Products Inc common stock in an underwritten public offering. The shares to be sold represent approximately 13.2 percent of the US-listed biopharmaceutical company's current outstanding shares of common stock. Morgan Stanley is acting as the sole underwriter for the offering.
Francisco Partners-owned Quantros Inc, a provider of software for the healthcare industry, acquired Comparion Medical Analytics, a healthcare information services company based in Greenville, South Carolina. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Searchlight Capital Partners LP acquired a majority stake in 160over90, a branding and creative services agency based in Philadelphia. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Perseus Books Group, which is owned by Centre Lane Partners LLC, agreed to sell its publishing business to Hachette Book Group. Perseus comprises nine imprints including Basic Books, PublicAffairs and Running Press. Financial terms were not disclosed. Hachette came close to acquiring Perseus in 2014. Perseus is also in discussions to sell its client services business, which provides marketing and distribution services to independent publishers.
San Francisco-based GI Partners named Achi Yaffe as its first operating principal. Yaffe will lead GI's value creation capabilities with the objective of increasing the firm’s support of its portfolio companies. Yaffe was previously a principal at Lee Equity Partners, where he helped portfolio companies develop business plans and execute strategic initiatives.
NewOak hired Jonna Boyle as a director in its credit services division. Boyle will join the firm's regulatory and compliance team in Dallas. Boyle was previously the president and founder of Iron Compliance LLC, a boutique consulting firm.

Chicago-based investment bank Livingstone hired Brennan Libbey as a partner in the firm's new Los Angeles office. Libbey will head Livingstone’s U.S. business services and West Coast teams. He joins the firm from Houlihan Lokey, where he led the business services group. The appointment is Livingstone’s first hiring announcement in Los Angeles.
U.K.-based Maru Group Ltd received an equity investment of up to 45 million pounds ($62.72 million) from Primary Capital Partners LLP. Maru Group is a newly formed buy and build vehicle created to develop a company that provides research, insight and advisory services to enterprises. Concurrent with the investment, Maru Group acquired eDigitalResearch Ltd, a U.K.-based customer insight company.
SomaLogic Inc will receive up to $60.5 million through a combination of debt and equity financing from Visium Healthcare Partners LP. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed. SomaLogic is a medical diagnostic technology company based in Boulder, Colorado.
