Rocket Lawyer, the California-based online legal service, acquired LawPivot, a Q&A site where attorneys can be reached. Specifics of the deal were not publicized. Google Ventures and August Capital are among Rocket Lawyer’s backers.
Art.com, the California-based art retailing website, has acquired Zenfolio, an online marketplace for professional and amateur photographers. Polaris Venture Partners is among Art.com’s backers; Zenfolio is based in California, as well. Additionally, Art.com raised $6.2 million, according to a federal filing.
Jim Pinto has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of The Gores Group’s National Envelope, the company announced. Pinto joined National Envelope in 2012.
Lambert Private Equity, the California-based investment firm, established a $75 million equity line with Amvesco Holdings, a Las Vegas-based company. Amvesco is a holding company that makes junior capital investments.
Precise Packaging, a maker of pressurized spray products, has been acquired by Trive Capital, the Dallas, Texas-based PE firm. Specifics of the deal were not publicized. Salem Partners advised the buyer.
Gene Austin will join Texas-based Austin Ventures as an Entrepreneur in Residence, the firm announced. He will advise on SaaS and cloud computing opportunities. He spent 10 years with Convio, an Austin portfolio company that was sold in 2012.
California-based website management company Zurb will acquire Forrst, a similar site for developers, from Colourlovers, which bought Forrst in March 2012. Specifics of the transaction were not publicized; 500Startups is among Forrst’s backers.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based CivicScience, a polling and data mining company, is adding investor and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to its board, the company announced. He will serve a four-year term beginning January 2013.
