The Riverside Company added Mitco Inc. to its DuBois Chemicals asset. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mitco is the third add-on acquisition for Cincinnati, Ohio-based DuBois. Riverside partnered with KeyBank (as Agent), U.S. Bank and TriState Capital Bank who provided all of the financing for the transaction. Jones Day provided legal counsel on the deal.
Chimerix Inc., the VC-backed pharmaceutical company, has brought Timothy Trost on board as a senior vice president and as its financial chief. Trost has more than 30 years’ experience, and will report to Kenneth Moch, the company’s president and CEO. Trost has previously served for companies that either went public or were sold to a listed entity.
Web site TechCrunch.com reports today that Israel-based startup Wix has raised $40 million from a group of investors. Mangrove Capital Partners, DAG Ventures, Benchmark Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners and Insight Venture Partners were reported to have participated in the round. This brings Wix’s fundraising total to $61 million, the site reported. Link here.

Signaling a continued interest in striking deals on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sun Capital Partners is shifting senior managing director Michael Kalb from the U.S. to the U.K. Kalb is one of Sun Capital’s longer-tenured execs. He joined the investment firm in 1999 and, according to Sun’s Web site, has been responsible for over 45 investments of Sun Capital's portfolio investments.
