Reputation.com is backed by August Capital, Insight Venture Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, Jafco Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. PaperKarma, which was seeded by SV Angel, is an app that eliminates unwanted mail.
USA Tank, a provider of tank storage systems, said on Thursday that it has named Jason Hardage as regional sales manager. In his new position, Hardage will be responsible for sales in East Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. USA Tank is owned by Global Storage Solutions LLC, a portfolio company of Cameron Holdings Corp, a private equity group based in San Diego, California and St. Louis, Missouri.
Silverback Enterprise Group, which is backed by Austin Ventures, said on Thursday that it has acquired Noetix Corp. No financial terms were disclosed. Comerica Bank provided financing for the transaction. Headquartered in Redmond, Wash., Noetix is a provider of software products.
Wausau Paper, a producer of towel and tissue products, has closed its previously announced agreement to sell its specialty paper business to Expera Specialty Solutions, a newly formed company backed by KPS Capital Partners L.P., a New York-based private equity firm. The sale has resulted in net cash proceeds of approximately $105 million to Wausau after settlement of transaction-related liabilities, costs and taxes.
Fulcrum Equity Partners said on Thursday that it has named Jim Douglass as a partner. In his new role, Douglass will work with the fund's existing portfolio companies and also develop new investment opportunities. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Douglass was the CEO of Vesdia.
EMN8, a digital ordering platform for the quick service restaurant sector, said on Wednesday that it has acquired Snapfinger, which specializes in remote ordering for the casual dining industry. No financial terms were disclosed. Also, EMN8 has raised $50 million in a round of funding led by Sid R. Bass Associates with participation by Allegis Capital and a number of unidentified individual investors with restaurant and technology expertise.
Beringea, LLC, a private equity firm, said on Wednesday that it has recapitalized Fiber By-Products Corp. No financial terms were disclosed. The funding will help FBP management pursue its goals of expansion. Based in White Pigeon, Michigan, Fiber By-Products Corp. is a producer and recycler of wood products.
Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, a middle market investment bank, said on Wednesday that it has made additions to its investment banking team. The new hires are Brian D. Dora and Mark J. Nadaud, both of whom will join BGL's Cleveland office as senior analysts. Also joining the same office as analysts are Connor T. Greenlees and Maxwell A Halsted. And at BGL's Chicago office, John A. Saulitis will step in as senior analyst while Andrew J. Goldfein joins BGL's Healthcare Transactions Finance Group as an analyst.
YP, a portfolio company of Cerberus Capital Management, L.P, said on Wednesday that it has named Patrick Moore as chief strategy and corporate development officer. In this newly-created position that will be based at the company's Atlanta office, Moore will oversee strategic planning for YP, which includes identifying new market opportunities for growth and expansion. YP is a provider of local search, media and advertising services.
McCarter & English LLP said on Wednesday that it has named David L.Woronov as a partner at the law firm’s corporate, securities and financial institutions practice in Boston. In his new position, Woronov will focus on private equity and M & A transactions.
