San Francisco-based Siluria Technologies said Tuesday that it has named Guido Radaelli as vice president of engineering. In his new role, Radaelli, who previously served as vice president of engineering at Aurora BioFuels, will report to Siluria CEO Ed Dineen. Siluria is a company that converts natural gas into chemicals and fuels. It is backed by ARCH Venture Partners, The Wellcome Trust, Alloy Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Bright Capital, Altitude Life Science Ventures, Lux Capital and Vulcan Capital.
Tech Valley Communications, a portfolio company of Riverside Partners, said Tuesday that it has received a new loan. No financial terms were disclosed. GE Capital and Webster Bank served as co-lenders for the transaction. According to Tech Valley, the financing will be used for growth initiatives as well as support for M & A activities. Tech Valley is a provider of fiber optic networks in upstate New York and Northern New England.
Graycliff Partners, a middle market investment firm focused on private equity and mezzanine investments in the U.S. and Latin America, said Tuesday that it has completed an investment in Moss, a portfolio company of Century Park Capital Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Chicago, Moss is a provider of custom displays to trade show exhibits, events and retail stores.
GENBAND, a Frisco, Texas-based provider of mutimedia networking and software solutions, said Tuesday that it has named Executive Chairman David Walsh as the company's new president and CEO. Walsh will be replacing Charlie Vogt, who according to GENBAND, "has accepted a new CEO leadership role." Prior to joining GENBAND, Walsh was the managing director at One Equity Partners, the private investment division of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Investment firm Blackstone said Tuesday that it has named Shelly Lazarus to its board of directors. The former CEO and Chairman of Ogilvy and Mather, Lazarus is currently its Chairman Emeritus.
Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association have added two private equity executives to its board. They are Connie Chan, a partner at Andreessen Horowitz and Eric Chen, a managing director at Silver Lake. Also, Vivian Wang, a partner at Deloitte Touche and Lilly Huang, director of Silicon Valley Bank's Global Gateway, join HYSTA's management team. HYSTA is a U.S.-based association for Chinese professionals.
Scanbio Marine Group AS, a portfolio company of Paine & Partners, said Tuesday that it has acquired Biokraft Marin AS. No financial terms were disclosed. Also, Havard Grontvedt, managing director of Biokraft Marin, and the rest of the Biokraft Marin team will join Scanbio. Based in Selva, Norway, Biokraft Marin collects, stores and processes fish.
Intergenia, a provider of professional web hosting and server solutions, has acquired the German managed hosting services provider internet24 GmbH. No financial terms were disclosed. Oakley Capital Private Equity owns a majority stake in Intergenia, which is headquartered in Cologne, Germany.
D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments and Bright Plain Renewable Energy said Tuesday that they have acquired five Tulare County, California-based solar projects from Macquarie Capital. No financial terms were disclosed.
MidOcean Partners said Tuesday that it has acquired, along with Vulcan Capital and other investors, Water Pik. No financial terms were disclosed. GE Capital and Macquarie Bank arranged the financing for the transaction while Harris Williams & Co. served as financial advisor. Also, Richard Bisson will remain CEO of Water Pik. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, Water Pik, which was previously owned by EG Capital Group and Zodiac Marine & Pool, a Carlyle Group portfolio company, is a provider of health and wellness products.
