Thomson Reuters Founders Share Company said Thursday that it has named Steve Turnbull to its board of directors. Turnbull, a retired London-based lawyer who specialized in M & A and private equity, most recently worked at Shepherd and Wedderburn. And prior to that, Turnbull was a partner at Linklaters for 23 years. Headquartered in New York City, Thomson Reuters is a provider of information for businesses and professionals. It is also the parent publisher of peHUB.
Pritok Capital has received a $7.2 million loan from Oxford Finance, a specialty finance firm that provides senior debt to companies in the life science and healthcare sector. Proceeds of the loan were used by Pritok to acquire Nentwick Care Center, a nursing facility in East Liverpool, Ohio. Pritok Capital is a private equity firm that invests in senior care real estate.
Corner Bakery Cafe, a portfolio company of Roark Capital Group, has promoted Gregg Koffler to vice president of franchise sales. In his new role, Koffler will be responsible for the overall sales and growth of Corner Bakery Cafe's franchise division. Corner Bakery Cafe is a nationwide restaurant chain.
Cincinnati-based CincyTech, a public-private seed-stage investor, has raised $10.9 million for its third fund, CincyTech Fund III. Ohio Third Frontier was a major investor. According to CincyTech, the fund will help the company to continue investing in local technology-based startups.
Global law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton has named Ariel Yehezkel as a partner in its New York-based corporate practice group. An experienced private equity attorney, Yehezkel joins the firm from Kirkland & Ellis.
Chicago-based fund manager RCP Advisors said Thursday that it has closed $425 million for RCP Secondary Opportunity Fund II. The amount raised for RCP's secondary fund exceeded the company's target of $300 million. RCP SOF II will focus on investing in established private equity funds through secondary market purchases.
Global investment firm KKR & Co. said Thursday that its first listed closed-end fund KKR Income Opportunities Fund has raised $305 million in its IPO. The stock debuted on the New York Stock Exchange on July 26 under the symbol KIO. The lead underwriters for the IPO were Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and UBS Investment Bank.
Spain-based airports operator AENA and AXA Private Equity have agreed to buy London Luton Airport from TBI Limited for $599 million. AXA Private Equity will have a 49% stake in the consortium while AENA will have a 51% stake. London Luton Airport is the UK's fifth largest airport in terms of passengers.
Accenture has closed its previously announced acquisition of Mortgage Cadence from Monitor Clipper Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Mortgage Cadence is a provider of loan origination software and electronic document management services in the U.S.
Rural Broadband Investments, a portfolio company of GTCR, said Thursday that it has closed its buy of McDonald Cable. No financial terms were disclosed. RBC Capital Markets served as exclusive financial advisor to RBI and GTCR for the transaction. An affiliate of McDonald Group, McDonald Cable is a cable provider that currently serves over 9,000 customers in Southeast Texas.
