Chicago-based private equity firm GTCR said Tuesday that it has teamed up with Ed Fiorentino to launch Crealta Pharmaceuticals. Based in Lake Forest, Illinois, Crealta will focus on acquiring specialty pharmaceutical companies and products. A former CEO of Actient Pharmaceuticals, Fiorentino will serve as chairman and CEO of Crealta.
UK-based internet media platform blinkx said Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement to buy Grab Media from Grab Network Holdings in an all-cash transaction. No financial terms were disclosed. Grab Media, which is backed by Court Square Ventures, Longworth Venture Partners, SCP Worldwide and SoftBank Capital, is a online video content syndication and advertising platform in Dulles, Virginia.
Momentive Specialty Chemicals and MicroBlend said Monday that they have formed MicroBlend Columbia S.A.S., a new joint venture company based in Cali, Colombia. According to both Momentive and Microblend, the new company will supply and service the Columbia market with APM System, a painting application product and other painting solutions. Based in Columbus, OH, Momentive Specialty Chemicals, which is backed by Apollo Capital Management, is a provider of thermoset resins. MicroBlend is an Arizona-based provider of paint systems and solutions for commercial and retail applications.
Hastings Equity Partners said Monday that it has sold Fluid Management Holdings and CP Well Testing to Prospect Capital Corp. for approximately $105 million. Headquartered in Weatherford, OK, FMH is a provider of water hauling, disposal and acid services for oil and gas companies in the Texas Panhandle and Western Oklahoma. CP, which is based in Elk City, OK, is a provider of flowback and well-testing services for oil and gas companies in the Granite Wash, Permian and Cana-Woodford plays.
Sunrun said Monday that it has named Thomas J. Holland as COO and Anne Brennan as CFO. Holland is the former head of Bain & Company's San Francisco and Palo Alto, CA-based offices while Brennan is the former CFO of Unwired Planet. Sunrun is a home solar company that is backed by Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital, Foundation Capital and Madrone Capital Partners.
Green Courte Partners said Monday that it has promoted Cheri M. Scully to vice president. In her new position. Prior to joining Green Courte Partners, Scully was a partner at Partners by Design, an architectural design firm. Based in Chicago, Green Courte Partners is a private equity firm focused on real estate.
Global drug developer inVentiv Health Clinical said Monday that it has made several additions to its leadership team. Dawn Anderson has been named president of the company's phase II-IV development while Dr. Martin Birkhofer will become chief medical officer. Also, Richard Shimota has been hired as CFO. All will report to Raymond Hill, president of inVentiv Health Clinical. InVentiv Health Clinical is a subsidiary of inVentiv Group Holdings, which is backed by Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P., Liberty Lane Partners and members of the inVentiv management team.
GE Capital’s Franchise Finance said Monday that it has provided financing to Roark Capital Group to support its buy of Miller’s Ale House. No financial terms were disclosed. GE Capital also served as administrative agent for the transaction with GE Capital Markets acting as joint lead arranger and joint bookrunner. Based in Jupiter, Florida, Miller's Ale House is a casual dining chain.
Confie Seguros, a portfolio company of ABRY Partners, said Monday that it has acquired Economy Insurance Mart. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Spring Hill, Florida, Economy Insurance Mart is a provider of auto, home and small commercial insurance.
EZE Trucking, a portfolio company of Atlantic Street Capital, said Monday that it has acquired Rig Runners. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Houston, Texas, Rig Runners is a provider of freight and logistics services for the energy and industrial sectors.
