Blackstone said Monday that it has made an undisclosed investment in ThoughtFocus Technologies. As a result of the funding, ThoughtFocus and Blackstone will set up the Blackstone Center of Excellence, an IT outsourcing and offshore delivery company. ThoughtFocus is an IT service provider.
AppFirst said Monday that it has named Bob Fox as director of solutions architecture. Prior to joining AppFirst, Fox worked at Splunk where he served most recently as manager of global technical enablement. Based in New York City, AppFirst, which is backed by FirstMark Capital, First Round Capital, Javelin Partners and Safeguard Scientifics, is a provider of operational intelligence solutions.
Revolution Ventures said Monday that it expects to raise $200 million for its first fund. This number exceeds the pool's target of $150 million. Founded by Steve Case, Tige Savage and David Golden, the fund, which will be based in Washington, D.C., will invest in tech companies that are "seeking to disrupt significant markets."
Trilantic Capital Partners has agreed to acquire Addison Group from Lake Capital Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. William Blair & Company advised Addison Group in the transaction. Addison Group is a professional staffing firm.
Point B said Monday that it has sold its stake in Loft9. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Bellevue, Washington, Loft9 is a consulting firm.
RingCentral has raised $98 million in its IPO, which debuted Friday on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "RNG." The company priced its IPO of 7,500,000 shares at $13 per share. Goldman, Sachs & Co., J.P. Morgan Securities and BofA Merrill Lynch are underwriters while Allen & Company and Raymond James serve as co-managers. Based in San Mateo, Calif., RingCentral, which is backed by Sequoia Capital, Khosla Ventures, DAG Ventures, Scale Venture Partners, Cisco and Silicon Valley Bank, is a provider of cloud communications solutions.
Enzymotec Ltd. has priced its IPO of 4,412,000 shares at $14 per share for a value of $62 million. The stock started trading Friday on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "ENZY." BofA Merrill Lynch and Jefferies LLC are underwriting the IPO with Wells Fargo Securities serving as lead manager. Based in Israel, Enzymotec is is a provider of specialty lipid-based products and solutions. The company's shareholders include XT Hi-Tech Investments, Millennium Materials Technologies Fund, Arancia International and BIP Venture Partners.
Real estate investment firm Starwood Capital Group said Friday that it has expanded its team with two new hires. Robert Scoville has been named as managing director and head of asset management while Neil Harris will be senior vice president of European asset management. Both appointments begin in October.
Brookside Equity Partners has named Michael LaConti as a senior associate. Prior to joining Brookside Equity Partners, LaConti was at Summer Street Capital Partners where he worked as an associate.  Brookside Equity Partners is a private equity firm with offices in Stamford, Conn. and Boston.
Violin Memory has priced its IPO of 18,000,000 shares at $9 per share for a value of $162 million. The stock started trading Friday on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "VNEM." J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank Securities, EM Securities and BofA Merrill Lynch are underwriting the IPO, with Barclays serving as a joint book-running manager. Baird and Pacific Crest Securities are also co-managers. Based in Mountain View, Calif., Violin Memory, which is backed by SAP Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, Toshiba and Juniper Networks, is a provider of memory-based storage solutions.
