CDC, a UK-based development finance institution and The Abraaj Group, an investor in global growth markets, have made an investment in Rainbow Hospitals. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in India, Rainbow Hospitals is provider of specialized pediatric and maternity care. Veda Corporate Advisors served as exclusive advisor for Rainbow Hospitals in the transaction.

Northstar Travel Media, a portfolio company of Wicks Group of Companies, has named Lisa Cohen as CFO. Prior to joining Northstar, Cohen was CFO for Remedy Health Media. Based in Secaucus, NJ, Northstar Travel Media is a provider of news, information and data for the travel, meetings and hospitality sectors.

Wilcon, which is backed by Pamlico Capital, said Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Freedom Dark Fiber Networks. No financial terms were disclosed. As a result of the transaction, Freedom Dark Fiber Networks will be renamed Freedom Telecommunications. Based in southern California, Freedom Telecommunications is a dark fiber provider.

Generator has acquired two hostels in Paris and Rome. No financial terms were disclosed. Generator, which is backed by European private equity firm Patron Capital, is a hostel brand.

Starwood Energy has acquired the Texas-based Stephens Ranch Wind Project from Wind Tex Energy and Mesa Power. No financial terms were disclosed. J.P. Morgan Securities is serving as financial advisor to Mesa Power for the transaction.

Evercore Wealth Management said Tuesday that it has named Jewelle Bickford as partner and wealth advisor. Prior to joining Evercore, Bickford served as a senior strategist at GenSpring Family Offices. A subsidiary of the investment bank Evercore, Evercore Wealth Management is a provider of financial planning for high-net worth individuals, families and institutions.

Global law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton has named Thomas M. Devaney as a partner in the firm's New York-based corporate practice group. Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Devaney was a partner at Morrison & Foerster where he headed that firm's private funds practice.

Parsley Energy said Monday that it has received a $65 million equity investment from Natural Gas Partners. Based in Midland, Texas, Parsley Energy is an oil and gas company.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Rockwell Collins has agreed to acquire ARINC from The Carlyle Group for $1.39 billion. Citi was the financial advisor to Rockwell for the transaction. ARINC is a provider of solutions for the commercial aviation industry.

MarginPoint said Monday that it has named Richard A. Pytak as vice president of finance. Prior to joining MarginPoint, Pytak served as CFO at Avantair. Based in Lake Forest, Calif., MarginPoint, which is backed by The Argentum Group, InnoCal Venture Capital, Inverness Graham Investments and Mission Ventures, is a provider of cloud solutions for the industrial sector.
