Youfit Health Clubs said Wednesday that it has received funding from PWP Growth Equity. No financial terms were disclosed. As a result of the transaction, Rick Berks, the founder of Youfit, will retain his controlling stake in the company. Youfit Health Clubs is a fitness company that operates 67 clubs in seven states. PWP Growth Equity is a lower middle market fund of Perella Weinberg Partners.
Oryx Midstream Services has raised $300 million in financing. The investors were Quantum Energy Partners, Post Oak Energy Capital, Wells Fargo Energy Capital, Oryx management and various private investors. Based in Midland, Texas, Oryx is a provider of midstream solutions to producers in the Permian Basin.
Global private placement agent and investment firm FIRSTavenue said Wednesday that it has hired Martin Donnelly as a partner. Prior to joining the firm, Donnelly worked at Blackstone where he served as managing director of the hedge funds solutions group. Also, FIRSTavenue has opened a new office in Sydney, Australia.
Avantor Performance Materials, a portfolio company of New Mountain Capital, has hired Helen Evans as executive vice president of laboratory products. Previously, Evans worked at GE Healthcare where she served as general manager of research markets for the U.S. and Canada. Based in Center Valley, Penn., Avantor is a provider of high-performance chemistries.
Summit Partners has made an undisclosed investment in NetBrain Technologies. Headquartered in Burlington, Mass., NetBrain is a provider of map-driven network automation solutions.
Dallas-based private equity firm Highlander Partners has expanded its North American team with three new additions. Drew Koecher is coming on board as a partner while Allen Schaar and Charles Thomas have joined the firm as operating partner and associate, respectively. Previously, Koecher worked at KPMG where he served as a partner; Schaar was an interim president of Eagle Healthcare Physicians; and Thomas was a hedge fund analyst at Stadtler Capital Management.
CMC Capital Partners has acquired a 20 percent stake in IMAX China, an IMAX subsidiary. The value of the transaction is for $80 million, which will be paid in two installments, one today and the other in early 2015. The Raine Group advised IMAX on the deal. Headquartered in New York, Toronto and Los Angeles, IMAX is a film format company.
Investment bank Ladenburg has hired Mark Green as head of technology investment banking and managing director. Green, who will be based in the firm's New York office, is the founder of Green Capital Group.
Dallas private equity firm Satori Capital has named Dr. Kern Wildenthal as an operating partner in the healthcare sector. Wildenthal is the former president of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center,
Investment firm Aristotle Capital said Tuesday that it has hired Matt Schleichkorn as managing director of retail sales and marketing. He will be based in the firm's LA office. Previously, Schleichkorn worked at Merrill Lynch where he served as director of managed solutions for the West Coast.
