Dietary supplement maker Bio-Solutions Corp. has inked a financing agreement with private equity firm Capital Consulting. No financial terms were disclosed. Also, William Gallagher, the firm's CEO and director, has retired but will stay on advising the board of directors when it comes to promoting the company's main product Type 2 Defense. And, Bio-Solutions has named James Hodge, the current CEO of ReelTime Rentals, as chairman of its board of directors.
Toronto-based Guardian Capital Group Limited has closed its buy of Zephyr Management. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in London, Zephyr Management is an emerging markets equity firm.
Penhall, which is backed by Centerbridge Partners, has named Sean Butler as its regional vice president for the Pacific Northwest. Previously, Butler worked at Hertz Equipment Leasing where he served as division vice president of Northeast operations. Based in Anaheim, Calif., Penhall is a provider of concrete cutting, coring, breaking and related concrete construction solutions.
Arsenal Capital Partners said Tuesday that it has acquired Synchrogenix. No financial terms were disclosed. Also, Ellen Barrosse, CEO of Synchrogenix, will remain in her position. Based in Wilmington, Delaware, Synchrogenix is a regulatory writing firm.
Neuberger Berman Group said Monday that it has hired Andrew Wilmont as a senior member of its global high yield team. Previously, Wilmont, who is based in London, worked at Alcentra Ltd, where he headed European high yield investments.
Global investment firm HarbourVest has raised $1 billion in the final close of its oversubscribed 2013 Direct fund. The target was $750 million. According to the firm, the pool has more than 30 LPs, which include corporate pensions, public pensions and international foundations. It has already invested in ten buyout and growth equity transactions in the U.S., Australia and Latin America.
Berry Plastics Group has appointed Idalene F. Kesner and Jonathan F. Foster to its board of directors. Kesner is the dean of Indiana Unversity's Kelley School of Business while Foster is founder and a managing director of private equity firm Current Capital. Both will be replacing Anthony Civale and Donald Graham who are leaving Berry Plastics' board. Headquartered in Evansville, Indiana, Berry Plastics Group is a producer of plastic packaging and engineered materials.
KPS Capital Partners said Monday that it has agreed to acquire Anchor Glass from Ardagh Holdings USA. No financial terms were disclosed for the transaction, which is expected to be completed during the second or third quarter of 2014. UBS Investment Bank and RBC Capital Markets will arrange the financing for the buyout. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, Anchor Glass is a maker of glass packaging products for the liquor, beverage and food sectors.
New York private equity firm Blue Wolf said Monday that it has named Victor C. Caruso as a senior advisor. Prior to joining Blue Wolf, Caruso worked with two unnamed private equity firms.
Custom Ecology, a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, has acquired B.J. Bear. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Ontario, B.J. Bear is a provider of outsourced municipal solid waste hauling solutions.
