The firm has named Dr. Swayampakula Ramakanth as managing director in equity research. Also, HCW has added Dr. Aileen M. Gibbons, Dr. Sean W. Hagerty and Dr. Jeffery R. Smith to the HCW healthcare investment banking team as vice presidents.
Warburg Pincus has completed its acquisition of Wencor from Odyssey Investment Partners. No financial terms were disclosed. Harris Williams & Co advised Wencor on the transaction. Based in Springville, Utah, Wencor is a provider and distributor of aftermarket aerospace components.
Six Red Marbles, which is backed by Calvert Street Capital Partners, has named David DiFelice as chief financial officer. Previously, DiFelice worked at Strategic Savings. Headquartered in Boston, Six Red Marbles is a provider of digital and print-based learning programs and educational solutions.
HCP & Company has agreed to sell its stake in makeup brand NYX Cosmetics to L'Oreal. No financial terms were disclosed. Piper Jaffray and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius advised NYX Cosmetics and HCP while Lazard and Weil, Gotshal and Manges advised L'Oreal.
Health Catalyst has named Fraser Bullock as chairman of the board of directors. Bullock replaces Dr. David A. Burton who is retiring as a board chairman but will remain as a senior vice president at Health Catalyst. Bullock is a co-founder and managing director at Sorenson Capital. Based in Salt Lake City, Health Catalyst is a provider of data and analytics that help healthcare organizations.
Thrasos Therapeutics has hired Donald Notman as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Previously, Notman worked at Leerink Partners where he served as managing director and head of private capital markets. Headquartered in Montreal, Thrasos is a biotherapeutics firm focused on kidney disease.
Equian, which is backed by Great Point Partners, has closed its buy of AfterMath Claim Science. No financial terms were disclosed. Berkery Noyes advised AfterMath Claim Science on the transaction. Based outside Chicago, AfterMath Claim Science is a provider of overpayment solutions for healthcare payors.
Prospect Mortgage, which is backed by Sterling Partners, has named Michael J. Williams as its CEO. The appointment is effective immediately. Williams replaces Ronald L. Bergum who is transitioning from CEO to managing partner. In addition to his new role as CEO, Williams will remain the chairman of Prospect's board. Prospect Mortgage is a home purchase lender.
Viper Energy Partners, a Midland, Texas-based subsidiary of oil and gas company Diamondback, has debuted its IPO after pricing its 5 million shares at $26 per share. The stock began trading Wednesday on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "VNOM." Barclays, Credit Suisse and Wells Fargo Securities are serving as lead underwriters. Viper is focused on acquiring oil and natural gas assets in North America.
