Bain Capital Private Equity has agreed to acquire Dallas-based Epic Health Services, a provider of home health care services for medically fragile children. The seller is Webster Capital. No financial terms were disclosed. Goldman Sachs provided financial advice to Epic Health Services and Webster Capital on the transaction while Barclays, BMO Capital Markets and RBC Capital Markets LLC did likewise for Bain Capital Private Equity.
Upper Street Events, which is backed by Livingbridge, has acquired UK-based Escape Events, a provider of events and trade shows. No financial terms were disclosed.
L1 Retail, a new retail investment arm of investment firm LetterOne, has launched. London-based L1 Retail will invest up to $3 billion in a small number of retailers mostly in Europe and in the emerging markets except for Russia.

Warburg Pincus-based Apex International Energy has named David A Pivnik as vice president of exploration and new ventures and Amir Diab as non-executive director. Previously, Pivnik was manager of subsurface at Occidental Petroleum Corp while Diab is a managing partner at Cailon Capital. Apex is an Egypt-focused oil and gas exploration company.
Multi-Employer Property Trust has acquired Brooklyn, New York-based The Addison, a high-rise multi-family property. No financial terms were disclosed. Global real estate adviser Bentall Kennedy advised MEPT on the transaction.
The Carlyle Group is among the investors selling its stake in Houston-based Avalon Advisors LLC, a registered investment adviser. The buyers are four private families and Avalon employees. No financial terms were disclosed. The deal closes this month.
Harbour BioMed has acquired Harbour Antibodies BV, a Dutch provider of transgenic mouse platforms for labs and companies. No financial terms were disclosed. Harbour BioMed is planning on forming a new oncology-based biotech company as a result of the acquisition. Harbour BioMed's backers include Advantech Capital and Legend Capital.
American Tower Corp and PGGM has agreed to acquire FPS Towers, which owns and operates wireless tower sites in France. No financial terms were disclosed. HSBC is providing financial advice to ATC Europe, the joint venture formed between American Tower Corp and PGGM, on the transaction.
Odyssey Investment Partners has made an undisclosed investment in Addison Group. Trilantic Capital Management LP will exit its investment in Odyssey after the transaction closes. William Blair advised Addison Group on the deal. Based in Chicago, Addison is a professional staffing firm.
