Clayton, Dubilier & Rice has promoted Sarah Kim, Stephen W. Shapiro, Derek L. Strum and J.L. Zrebiec to partner. Kim joined CD&R in 2008, Shapiro came on board in 2002, Strum was first hired in 2003 and Zrebiec joined in 2004.
Toronto and Utah-based DW Healthcare Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm, has promoted Aly Champsi to managing director and partner. Champsi's work background includes positions at BMO Nesbitt Burns, Mercer Management Consulting and Clairvest Group.
DaVita Inc, a medical group and a kidney care services provider, has appointed Joel Ackerman as chief financial officer. His appointment of the latter role will become effective March 1, 2017. Ackerman, a current CEO of Champions Oncology, is a former partner at Warburg Pincus.
Riverside Partners has promoted Michelle Noon and Max Osofsky to general partner. Also, the Boston-based middle-market private equity firm has upped David Del Papa to partner and Chris Ryan to principal. According to the firm, the promotions will beef up its investment team as they continue to deploy Riverside's fifth fund, which closed at $561 million.
Highland-backed Cornerstone Healthcare Group Holding Inc, a Dallas-based healthcare company, has named Steve Jakubcanin as president and CEO. Previously, Jakubcanin worked at AccentCare where he served as chief operating officer.
CiVi Biopharma, which is focused on developing new treatments for cardiometabolic diseases, has closed $40 million in Series A funding. The investor was Tavistock Group's Boxer Capital.
