New York City-based Firelight Capital Partners, a new private equity firm focused on retail brands, has launched. Rick Perkal, a former senior managing partner at Irving Capital, is leading Firelight as CEO.
Vesey Street Capital Partners, a middle-market healthcare-focused private equity firm, has hired Larry Marsh and David De Luca as general partners. Also, the firm has named Bryan Sekino as chief financial officer. Previously, Marsh was executive vice president of new market development and chief strategy officer at AmerisourceBergen while De Luca worked at Morgan Stanley where he was a managing director and head of U.S. institutional equity sales in New York and other regions. And, Sekino worked at Brant Point Capital Management.
Vesey Street Capital Partners has closed its recapitalization of healthcare services company HealthChannels, the parent company of ScribeAmerica. No financial terms were disclosed. Evercore provided financial advice to Vesey Street Capital Partners on the transaction.
Bermuda-based Premia Holdings Ltd, a property & casualty insurance and reinsurance group focused on providing runoff solutions, has closed $510 million in funding. The investors included Kelso & Company and Arch Capital Group Ltd. Clifford Chance US LLP and Conyers Dill & Pearman Limited advised Premia on the transaction. And, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP advised Kelso while Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP advised Arch.
