Convergint Technologies, a portfolio company of KRG Fund IV, acquired video surveillance technology provider Total Recall. Denver-based KRG Capital Partners invested in Convergint, which designs and installs integrated building systems, in 2012.
Berkshire Partners LLC appointed Michael J. Grebe, Jeffrey W. Henderson and Lawrence D. Kingsley as advisory directors. The new hires will work to source investment ideas and advise portfolio companies.
Fifth Third Bancorp hired William Tyson, formerly of BB&T Capital Markets, as co-head of Fifth Third Capital Markets. Tyson will focus on strategic mergers and acquisitions, as well as developing the bank's relationship with private equity companies.
Swander Pace Capital sold Renew Life, maker of probiotic and other digestive care supplements, to Clorox Company for $290 million. Rothschild advised Swander Pace on the transaction.
Healthcare tech VC firm Flare Capital Partners appointed Gary Gottlieb and Phyllis Gotlib as executive partners. Gottlieb is currently CEO of Partners in Health, a provider of health services in poor countries, and Gotlib was co-founder and CEO of iMDsoft, an adult-care tech services company. MIT economics professor Jonathan Gruber also joined the firm as chair of its industry advisory board.
Boulder-based Foundry Group led a $27 million Series B round in ROLI, a London-based music technology company. Also participating were London-based BGF Ventures and San Francisco-based Founders Fund, as well as all ROLI's Series A investors. The round was Foundry's first investment outside the U.S.
Sapphire Ventures led a $20 million Series C round in CloudHealth Technologies, provider of a cloud service management platform, bringing the total venture investment in the company to $40 million. Existing investors Scale Venture Partners, .406 Ventures and Sigma Prime Ventures also participated. Jai Das, managing director at Sapphire, will join CloudHealth's board of directors.
BlackArch Partners named Pete Bilden as managing director and co-head of the firm's aerospace, defense and government services industry practice. Bilden, a former U.S. Army captain and helicopter pilot, was previously managing director at Stone Key Partners and an investment banker at Goldman Sachs.
Dallas-based Teakwood Capital appointed Jonathan Hustis as managing director of corporate development. Hustis was previously law partner in the Dallas office of Culhane Meadows PLLC and at the Texas law firm Phillips & Reiter PLLC.
MK Capital led an $8 million Series B round in Passport, a provider of mobile technology for parking and transportation customers, bringing the company's total funding to $17 million. Existing investors Grotech Ventures and Relevance Capital also participated.
