GTCR completed its acquisition of Onvoy, LLC from Communications Infrastructure Investments. Based in Minneapolis, Onvoy provides wholesale voice and messaging communications services.
Kohlberg & Company LLC acquired Interstate Hotels & Resorts from Thayer Lodging and Jin Jiang International Hotels. Interstate, a third party hotel manager, will continue its M&A activities and retain its senior management team.
Black Diamond Capital Management, L.L.C. announced the hiring of Robert Simon as CEO of the Bayou Steel Group, which produces and sells long carbon steel products in North America. Simon previously led the structural and rail division of Steel Dynamics, Inc. Also joining the company are Alton Davis and Jim Howe as president/COO and VP of sales, respectively.
Hong-Kong based Value Measured Investment Limited led a $10 million Series B financing in Sirnaomics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focusing on RNAi therapeutics. The funding will go towards development of anti-fibrosis treatments, with a Phase I clinical trial planned for early second half of 2016.
IDEAYA Biosciences, Inc. raised $46 million in Series A financing from 5AM Ventures, Canaan Partners, Celgene, WuXi Healthcare Ventures, Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research and Alexandria Real Estate. IDEAYA is a biotechnology company pursuing small-molecule research in synthetic lethality and immuno-oncology.
Shining Capital and Guild Capital led a $10 million Series A funding round in Home Chef, a Chicago-based gourmet meal delivery service. Home Chef plans to use the new financing to open a West Coast distribution facility.
A group of healthcare and technology funds led by Longmeadow Capital Partners, Point Judith Capital and CVH Holdings agreed to co-invest in WeCounsel Solutions, LLC, a Chattanooga-based telemedicine software company. The Series A funding round raised $3.5 million.
Insight Venture Partners led a $55 million Series C funding round in VTS, a commercial real estate management and leasing platform. Previous investors OpenView and Trinity Ventures also participated. VTS has raised a total of $84 million to date.
Peppertree Capital increased its equity and debt commitment to Blue Sky Towers, from $80 million to $120 million. Formed in 2014, Blue Sky acquires, develops and manages wireless infrastructure throughout the United States.
Foundry Group led an $8 million financing in MakeTime, a manufacturing platform that monetizes capacity from idle machines. Almaz Capital and Kentucky Science & Technology Corporation also participated in the funding.
