Kalish joined the firm in 2005, and worked previously as a director at Everest Capital. Farshchi has worked with Lux Capital since 2006, focusing on investments in energy and technology. Schildhorn has worked with Lux since 2006, focusing on operations and investments within energy, novel materials and technologies at the intersection of the digital and physical worlds.
Spain’s Renovalia Energy and private equity firm First Reserve are partnering on a venture to invest in wind farm projects across Europe and North America, Reuters reported Monday. First Reserve is putting $150 million of equity into the project. When leveraged, the venture could have roughly $1 billion for investments in renewable energy, Reuters wrote.
Tasti D-Lite, the private equity-owned, low-calorie soft serve dessert chain, has acquired Planet Smoothie. Terms of the deal were not released. Planet Smoothie sells smoothies and natural snacks. Tasti D-Lite is majority-owned by Snow Phipps Group, a New York-based private equity firm.

New York-based buyout shop Harvest Partners has recapped of Document Technologies, providing a “successful liquidity event” for Quad-C Partners VII, L.P., the firm announced Friday. No terms of the deal were disclosed. Atlanta-based Doument Technologies is a provider of outsourced litigation support services, including facilities management services and electronic and paper discovery.
Brynwood Partners’ wholly-owned subsidiary Golden Sun Holdings has acquired Newhall Laboratories, a maker of personal care brands including la bella, Monkey Brains and GroWorks. Terms of the deal were not released. The deal is the third personal care acquisition from Brynwood Partners VI L.P. Newhall is based in Santa Clarita, Calif.
Douglas Dynamics Inc. has priced its secondary offering of 1,996,479 shares of common stock at $14.75 per share. Aurora Capital Group is among the selling stockholders. Robert W. Baird & Co. is acting as the sole book-running manager for the offering. Milwaukee-based Douglas Dynamics designs, manufactures and sells snow and ice control equipment for light trucks.
A Delaware judge has approved an $89.4 million settlement for shareholders of Del Monte, who sued claiming they were slighted in the company’s sale to buyout shop Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Reuters reported Friday. Del Monte’s advisor, Barclays, and Del Monte will contribute to the settlement.
Publicly traded gaming company Electronic Arts Inc. has acquired KlickNation, a developer of free social role-playing games. Terms of the deal were not released. The company’s team has joined Electronic Arts’ BioWare division.
ConAgra Foods Inc. has completed its acquisition of National Pretzel Co. from Brookstone Holdings. Terms of the deal, originally announced in last month, were not released. National Pretzel is based in Lancaster, Penn.
