Buyout shop TPG Capital is mulling a bid for Australian underwear maker Pacific Brands, Reuters reported Thursday. TPG has not tabled a bid for the asset, the source said, but is instead watching developments on the rival bid made by KKR & Co. in January, Reuters wrote.

China Investment Corp. has taken a minority stake in Washington-based asset manager EIG Global Energy Partners, Reuters reported Thursday. Asset manager EIG, which invests only in energy, resources and related infrastructure, did not disclose the size or value of the stake taken by CIC, Reuters wrote.

Redwood Capital Group, a New York-based investment banking firm, said Wednesday that it would merge with Gemini Partners, a Los Angeles-based investment bank. Terms of the deal were not released. The combined firm will maintain the Redwood Capital Group name, the company said.

Platinum Equity has sold Canvas Systems, a supplier of IT hardware and services, to publicly traded Avnet Inc. Terms were not released. Platinum acquired controlling interest in Canvas in 2009 from OHC. OHC retained a minority interest in Canvas, which it also sold as a part of the deal.

Buyout shop Riverside Company has acquired YourMembership.com Inc., a provider of web-based membership management software. Terms were not released. YourMembership.com was formed in 1998.

Los Angeles-based Hackman Capital, a privately held real estate investment firm, announced Wednesday that it has recapped the National Industrial Portfolio. The financing is part of a partnership between OCM NIP JV Holdings L.P., an indirect subsidiary of certain investments funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management L.P., and the portfolio's original owners, a joint venture formed by Hackman Capital, Calare Properties, and KBS Real Estate Investment Trust. Terms of the recapitalization were not released.

EOS Climate has named Kathleen McGinty to its board of directors. McGinty is a senior vice president and managing director at Weston Solutions, where she leads the Green Development Division. McGinty is also an Operating Partner at Element Partners, a growth stage private equity firm. EOS Climate is based in San Francisco.

Buyout shop Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has named Ali Satvat as a director in its Menlo Park, Calif., office. Satvat joined from Apax Partners, where was a principal on the health care investment team.

Executive search firm CTPartners said that it will acquire J-M. Beigbeder - CEO Search, a Paris-based executive search firm. Terms of the deal were not released.

Wellspring Capital Management announced that it has acquired ThermaSys Corp., a maker of heat exchangers and heat exchange equipment. Terms of the deal were not released. Wellspring bought the company from Sun Capital Partners.
