Middle-market private equity investor American Industrial Partners has exited its investments in both Ichor Systems and Brooks Instrument. Terms of the deals were not released. Ichor, a designer and manufacturer of process tools, gas delivery modules, and chemical delivery modules, was acquired by Francisco Partners. American Industrial Partners acquired Ichor in October 2009. The firm acquired Brooks Instrument, a provider of low flow and pressure/vacuum analytical instruments, in 2007.
Investment firm First Reserve Corp. has promoted nine members of its team: Michael France, Francesco Giuliani, Neil Hartley, John Mogford and Joshua Weiner were promoted to Managing Directors. Gary Reaves, Ryan Shockley and Ryan Zafereo became Directors. Matthew Raben was promoted to Director, Legal.
High Street Capital has exited its investment in Mac & Massey LLC, selling the company to Batory Foods Inc. Terms of the deal were not released. Mac & Massey is a food ingredient broker and distributor. High Street Capital is a private equity firm based in Chicago.
Buyout shop Francisco Partners has acquired Ichor Systems, an Oregon-based designer and manufacturer of process tools, gas delivery modules and chemical delivery modules sold to capital equipment manufacturers. Terms of the deal, which closed December 30, were not released.
Watertown, Mass.-based Syndexa Pharmaceuticals Corp. has raised an undisclosed amount of Series B1 financing from MP Healthcare Venture Management. Total capital raised in the B1 round was $8.5 million. Syndexa is developing drugs to treat metabolic diseases.
Battery Ventures has promoted two to general partner: Jesse Feldman, based in Battery’s Waltham, Mass., office; and Brian O’Malley, based in the firm’s Menlo Park office. Feldman is part of the firm’s growth equity and buyout team, and leads Battery’s industrial technology practice. O’Malley focuses on seed and early stage investing in the consumer Internet sector.
Baird Capital Partners announced Thursday that it had added Mark Hodges as an operating partner. Hodges is the founder and CEO of Hodges Advisory, a firm that advises the founders of services companies on growth and liquidity, Baird said in a statement. Previously he was co-founder and chairman of the board of EquaTerra, an outsourcing and shared services advisory company.
Oak Hill Capital Partners has exited its investment in Butler Schein Animal Health, selling its stake to publicly traded Henry Schein Inc. for $155 million. Henry Schein now owns 71.5% of Ohio-based Butler Schein Animal Health.
Scottish Equity Partners has closed a new growth equity and venture fund with 200 million pounds ($310 million). SEP IV will focus on investments in high-growth technology and technology-related companies based in the U.K. The firm said that limited partners include pension funds, fund-of-fund investors, family offices and corporate investors, though it did not name any LPs.
Littlejohn & Co. has promoted Michael Klein to the post of chief executive, and promoted Brian Ramsay to president. Ramsay was previously a managing director. Angus Littlejohn will continue as chairman.
