Disruptor Capital has put an undisclosed amount into policy research firm Potomac Research Group. Terms of the deal were not released, but the firm announced that but Disruptor will be the largest outside shareholder of Potomac Research Group.
Private equity shop SK Capital Partners has acquired a 60% stake in the molecular imaging division of Belgian cancer treatment firm Ion Beam Applications, Reuters reported Monday. Ion Beam is expecting to gain over 100 million euros ($127.14 million) after selling the stake.
Santa Maria, Calif.-based DenMat Holdings announced Friday that it had acquired the restoratives and impression portfolios from Royal Philips Electronics, a portfolio that includes the "Splash" and "Precision" impression materials brands. Terms of the deal were not released. DenMat, a maker of thin, porcelain dental veneer systems, is owned by Centre Partners Management and Mill Street Partners.
Publicly traded OM Group has acquired Rahu Catalytics from Unilever Ventures, the European venture capital arm of Unilever. Terms of the deal were not released. Rahu is a developer of iron-ligand based chemistry for use in environmentally friendly coatings, composites and inks.
Roast beef sandwich chain Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc., which is majority owned by Atlanta-based Roark Capital Group, has named George Condos chief operating officer. Condos worked previously for Dunkin Brands, where he held the position of Vice President of Marketing, Development and Operations. Most recently he was SVP and Brand Officer of Dunkin Donuts. Roark Capital bought Arby’s this summer.
Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc. has raised $42 million by selling its TCD Royalty subsidiary and taking on $15 million in venture debt, the company announced Friday. The sale of TCD Royalty generated $27 million. The company said proceeds will be used to prepare for the commercial launch of its two lead product candidates in epilepsy, and to further the development of its pipeline designed to treat central nervous system diseases. Supernus is based in Rockville, Md.
Clearview Capital Fund II, L.P. has acquired New Orleans-based consulting services firm GCR Inc. Terms of the deal, which closed December 31, were not released.
AXA Private Equity has acquired a majority stake in Ouvêo, a French window manufacturer, investing alongside existing backers Alliance Entreprendre and FSI Régions. Terms of the deal were not released. Jean-Luc Nouveau remains C.E.O. of Ouvêo, while the management team increased its stake in the company, the firm said in a written release.
Burrill & Company has added David Wetherell as a managing director with the Burrill Venture Capital Group, the firm announced Friday. In addition, Douglas Lind joined the firm as a managing director and Joshua Zelig joined as a director. Wetherell is the founder of GBP Capital, a Greenwich, Conn.-based healthcare venture firm, in 2005. Lind previously served as managing director at GBP Capital. Zelig was an associate partner at GBP Capital.
BV Investment Partners has sold portfolio company Vision Communications to EATEL. Vision is a Louisiana-based provider of residential and commercial communications services, including digital video, high-speed Internet and local and long distance telephone. Terms of the sale were not released. BV acquired the company in 2007.
