He most recently ran the North American Financial Institutions Group (FIG) at JPMorgan Chase and was co-head of the global FIG Group.

Julian Carreras has returned to European mid-market private equity firm Palamon Capital Partners as principal. The appointment marks the return to Palamon by Carreras, a Spanish national, who was a member of the firm between 2003 and 2006. He initially joined Palamon from Goldman Sachs and prior to that worked for McKinsey & Co. Between 2006 and 2011, he held positions with Cinven in London and Thesan Capital in Madrid.
Walki Group, a producer of technical laminates and protective packaging materials has bought Meuwissen, a distributor of building and construction materials. Walki Group is a portfolio company of Nordic-based private equity investor CapMan.
UK technology commercialisation and investment company Imperial Innovations is to appoint Nigel Pitchford as managing director of healthcare investments. The appointment will take effect from 4 January 2012. Pitchford joins in this non-Board role from DFJ Esprit, where as a partner he has been responsible for leading healthcare investment activities across Europe.

Chipmaker Intel Corp has agreed to acquire mobile navigation software maker Telmap, chief executive of the Israel-based company reported on Sunday. Details of the deal were not disclosed but Israeli media said Intel is paying about $300 million to $350 million, Reuters wrote.
