Apollo-backed Yahoo acquires AI-powered news aggregation app Artifact

Yahoo, which is backed by Apollo Global Management, has acquired Artifact, a San Francisco-based AI-driven news aggregation and discovery platform. No financial terms were disclosed.

Artifact was created by Instagram cofounders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger.

Artifact CEO Systrom and CTO Krieger will work with Yahoo in an advisory capacity during this transition.
